Course Description: Legend has it that Sarasota’s first mayor, John Hamilton Gillespie, introduced golf to Florida after emigrating from Scotland in 1885. This may explain the municipal Bobby Jones Golf Complex. Sarasota’s only municipal golf facility, this 45-hole golf facility provides great golf at a great value. There are three courses at the complex. The American (par 71) was designed by Ron Garl. The British-style (par 72) course was designed by Donald Ross. The Executive Course is a nine-hole par-30 course.
