Meet the Herrons

80% of the Herron's real estate business is made up of former clients and referrals from those clients. Keep that in mind if you're considering buying property in Sarasota or on one of Sarasota's barrier islands. Because nothing says more about them, the level of service they provide and the degree of professionalism they bring to helping you with one of the biggest decisions you'll ever make.

Nick Herron has been working with clients interested buying and selling real estate in Sarasota, Venice and Sarasota's Barrier Islands for twenty years. His wife, Kathleen has been working with him for the past six. They have seen Sarasota grow from a sleepy little town into a thriving cultural center, just as they've seen the changes that have come to Sarasota's barrier islands. They offer that wealth of experience to every client they work with.

Nick Herron

Nick was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, and graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington with a BS in Business and Marketing. In 1982 he took a job as the National Sales Manager for a flooring company and was quickly promoted to Vice President of Sales, a position that brought him to Florida.

Nick's new job allowed him to live anywhere, as long as he was near an airport. He spent time exploring the state that had become his adopted home, and from all that was available, he chose Casey Key. He had fallen in love with the barrier island's "Old Florida" lifestyle and the opportunities it afforded him to pursue his passions for boating and golf.

By the late eighties, he had decided he had traveled enough. He also realized, after buying and selling a number of homes that he was doing better in real estate as he was in sales. He decided to share his love of the barrier islands and Sarasota with others wanting to live the Florida dream and obtained a real estate license. He went to work for RE/MAX because he felt - and still does - that the company offers both its clients and its sales staff a better deal than other companies - and Nick is man that knows a good deal.

Kathleen Herron

In the late ‘90's he met Kathleen at a party on Casey Key. Like him she had grown up in the mid-west, Aurora, Illinois, and like Nick she had had a successful career in business, having worked first as a print broker before starting her own printing business.

Kathleen had been coming to the Gulf Coast since childhood; her parents had a home on Ft. Myers Beach, and she spent her winters there with them, returning to Aurora for the summers. When her dad retired from the trucking business he became a real estate broker and developer in the area, so Kathleen has come by her love of the real estate business naturally. Eventually, she sold her printing business and she decided to make the Gulf Coast her permanent home.

Like Nick, Kathleen loves boating and golf and since their marriage, they have lived in a number of communities in and around Sarasota and its barrier islands, sharing their joy at being on the water or on the course. They have a 33 St. Trojan motor boat and like nothing more than to take a client out on the water to show off the barrier islands they love so much. And Nick is always happy to get a client interested in one of the many golfing communities that make this a golfers paradise out for a round.
